The Initiative of Brazilian Pirate Party is a founding member of Pirate Parties International (abbreviated PPI) that is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) existing to help establish, to support and promote, and to maintain communication and co-operation between pirate parties around the world. It was officially founded in 2010 during the Brussels conference from April 16th to 18th.

The current members of the PPI are the Pirate Parties from:

 Czech Republic
 New Zealand
 United Kingdom

The initiative of Brazilian Pirate Party is in early stage gathering support, developing pirate politics and strategy, organizing small campaigns and raising funds. To register a political party in Brazil, we need a well-structured princi-program and statutes, some funds to publish it on official newspaper, a well organized support at least in 9 states to collect about 500.000 in paper signatures — representing 0.5% of the votes of last Chamber of Deputies election — and an address in Brasilia: the Federal Capital.
